Piintal is the name for the saltpans that you find out on our Country at Kencharang. During the wet season piintal floods and becomes a freshwater lagoon. During this time you can find lots of good bush foods. When piintal dries out and becomes hard, we can dig for yellow ochre. We use this ochre on all of our artworks and also for ceremony.
