The stone axes of rainforest Bama holds immense cultural significance and serves
as a testament to the old peoples craftsmanship and ingenuity. I aim to continue these practices as they dwindle more and more so. Typically made from hardened volcanic stones such as Basalt (as mine are) I have out many hours into shaping the cutting end(blade) and attaching the to the cane handle. The can cut very easily as you will see and were not only used for preparing, building and gathering, they held spiritual significance in symbolising the connection of our old people to the land and now myself to my old people.
