This painting is about the dreamtime story that goes from Kintore to Tjurnarrirti (Lake McDonald). He would take many young initiates to Tjurnarrirti. The distance between Kintore and Tjurnarrirti was great so they would camp half way and in the morning they would continue their journey to Lake McDonald. This dreamtime story is the Tingarri dreaming. The Tingarri is one of the most sacred ceremonies for us. This ceremony was held by the senior law men and the senior law men made sure the Tingarri ceremony was held correctly always. The Tingarri Dreaming is very sacred and the senior men would keep the men together as they travelled. The women were also part of the ceremony and they travelled parrallel to the men but not too close to them as this was forbidden. I have a great respect for the Tingarri ceremony. It was the [Native Quall] man who took all the men from Kintore to Tjurnarrirti. They were the Tingarri People in the Dreamtime.
